Picking Cards
Picking Cards are used to determine the rules that are to be applied for the picking of any order. The system works on the principal of inspecting all Picking Cards and, commencing with the highest ranking one, will use the first Picking Card it finds that matches the Order.
Ranking Points
Ranking points are determined by the data that you will be able to match against an order. The points are summed up based upon the data that is available to make a match between the card and the product. The points that make up the ranking points are shown below. Points are deducted from an initial total to create the ranking points, the initial total being 8192 (twice 4096). Points are deducted if the field is null.
Customer 4096
Product 2048
Stock Type 1024
Stock Category 512
UNNO 256
Item Type 128
Tyre Type 64
Prime Group 32
Secondary Group 16
Therefore the more data you are able to give the system about the basis for the rule the stronger it will be ranked

The search view above illustrates how the ranking system works. The highest ranked card has a specific Customer, Product and Secondary Group. The lowest one has nothing specific so acts as a “catch all” for any order that doesn’t have a specific requirement.
Pick Card Matching
When inspecting the various Pick Cards the system carries out a match. This is a process of comparing various fields on the product to that on the match to determine if it is correct to use the specific Pick Card.

Pick Card Rules
Once the system has selected the most appropriate Pick Card to use the rules set on that Pick Card will be applied. The rules are shown in the screen shot below.

These rules are applied by first determining if there are any priorities and then applying the rule. There are two priority options;
Reference The rule is to be applied firstly to products with this reference before applying to products with other references.
Location The rule is to be applied firstly to products within this location before applying to products in other locations.
The priorities will work in conjunction with each other. This will enable you to decide firstly that you will move product of a certain reference in a certain location before moving that product from elsewhere.
There are currently three rules that may be used;
Matching Reference The product selected must have the same reference as that entered with the order. This allows for serial number selection, batch number selection etc.
Expiry Date This will select the product with an expiry date that is lower than any other product’s expiry date.
First in First Out This is the traditional FIFO picking rule where the product that has been in store longest will be picked.
